I first met Mike when I was still in college and he was a brand new reporter. I used to see him downtown at all hours of the day and night carrying a huge camera on his shoulder and running after someone with a mic. He made it look easy and fun. Later, when I was in PR, I used to call the station at night for one reason or another and, when he answered, Mike always recognized my voice and was so pleasant and helpful. While I worked with the health reporters most often, Mike would always call me by name when he saw me in the newsroom and would wave across the room. May God bless his dear family and his WTOC family -- especially Dawn Baker who worked for so many years with Mike. It just won't be the same watching the 11 PM news...
