A fine and caring man was lost this week. Mike was the co-host of the Children's Miracle Network Telethon benefiting The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. He was the face of the event since it's most early days. He gave of his time and talents at the national level with his involvement at the annual CMN Hospitals Celebration Meetings in Orlando. I admired his work on the Telethon and came to consider him a friend. I will miss him greatly.

I first met Mike when I was still in college and he was a brand new reporter. I used to see him downtown at all hours of the day and night carrying a huge camera on his shoulder and running after someone with a mic. He made it look easy and fun. Later, when I was in PR, I used to call the station at night for one reason or another and, when he answered, Mike always recognized my voice and was so pleasant and helpful. While I worked with the health reporters most often, Mike would always call me by name when he saw me in the newsroom and would wave across the room. A fine and caring man was lost this week. Mike was the co-host of the Children's Miracle Network Telethon benefiting The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. He was the face of the event since it's most early days. He gave of his time and talents at the national level with his involvement at the annual CMN Hospitals Celebration Meetings in Orlando. I admired his work on the Telethon and came to consider him a friend. I will miss him greatly.

I first met Mike when I was still in college and he was a brand new reporter. I used to see him downtown at all hours of the day and night carrying a huge camera on his shoulder and running after someone with a mic. He made it look easy and fun. Later, when I was in PR, I used to call the station at night for one reason or another and, when he answered, Mike always recognized my voice and was so pleasant and helpful. While I worked with the health reporters most often, Mike would always call me by name when he saw me in the newsroom and would wave across the room.
